Wine description for Roero Arneis DOCG 2023 from Vietti

Colour & appearance

Brilliant, pale straw yellow with lively silvery reflections that elegantly catch the light and hint at the freshness of the vintage.

Nose

A captivating aromatic profile that immediately attracts attention. Wild mint and nettle open the bouquet, followed by precise notes of lime and pink grapefruit. The fruity components of ripe pear are complemented by fine herbal nuances of fennel herb and aniseed - a classic, but by no means ordinary interpretation of the Arneis grape.

Palate

The true character of the terroir is revealed on the palate: Precise minerality and a fine grip that gives the wine structure. The acidity is perfectly integrated and gives the wine a remarkable freshness and length. The finish is clean, with lingering notes of citrus and subtle herbs. The balance between fruit, acidity and minerality is impressive and a testament to the wine's craftsmanship.

General information

Vietti's Roero Arneis comes from vines that are on average 25 years old and are rooted in the calcareous marl soils of Santo Stefano Roero. The combination of shell limestone, clay and sand gives the wine its characteristic minerality. Hand-picking and gentle processing with overnight cold maceration and subsequent fermentation at low temperatures preserve the typical varietal flavours. Maturation on the lees in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation, emphasises the freshness of this wine.

Food pairing suggestions

A versatile accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine. Excellent with Wild herb salad with egg and fried chanterellesclassic vitello tonnato or Sea bream with lemons, oranges and basil. Its minerality and freshness also make it the ideal partner for seafood and light pasta dishes.

Special features
