Color
Light golden yellow with white-golden reflections.
Nose
The nose of the 2012 Brand from Zind Humbrecht already announces a stony pleasure. Grown on lean granite soils, the minerality literally swings towards you. Yellow pome fruits, apples, quince, and a few herbs like sage are on their heels. The wine needs at least one hour of carafe on the windowsill, but better five years in the cellar.
Mouth
On the palate, the brandy is very powerful, its clear minerality is wonderfully interwoven into the structure of the wine. A gentle fruit on the nose welcomes the drinker charmingly, a distinctive residual sweetness buffers the minerality on the palate. A delicate corset of finest tannins contour the finish and provide with their light bitter tone for emphasis and length. Epic reverberation with a lot of bass.
