Facts about the drop
This Garnacha was carefully harvested from the four-hectare Finca Les Planetes Porrera plot. The harvest process began on 26 August and ended on 5 September. After the harvest, the grapes were macerated for four weeks and then fermented spontaneously in steel tanks with wild yeasts. The post-ripening of the wine extended over seven months, with 10% being matured in amphorae and the majority of the wine, 80%, being matured in stainless steel.
This wine presents itself in a slightly veiled purple red that immediately enchants the senses.
The 2021 Planetes "Garnatxes en Àmfora" already teases the nose with a true explosion of scents. It smells enticingly of sweet blueberries, ripe cherries, wild roses, violets and a hint of incense. There is also a distinct herbal note reminiscent of thyme and rosemary. A refreshing, feminine and extremely seductive prelude that already makes you curious about the first sip in the fragrance.
On the palate, the wine reflects its aromatic diversity and convinces with its impressive freshness and elegance. A fine salty nuance, pleasantly invigorating acidity and the harmonious interplay of grippy yet polished tannins round off the taste experience. This wine inspires you to drink the bottle straight away and meditate at the same time. Its balancing freshness makes it an excellent match for dishes with fruity, acidic and herbaceous components.
It unfolds its full glory when slightly chilled and enjoyed from large glasses!
This special drop goes perfectly with braised turnips with thyme and cranberry sauce, served in a chicory dish. A tasty alternative is merguez sausages on a bed of mung bean salad, finished with wild garlic mustard. Or try marinated Iberico chops accompanied by a wild herb salad and a light rhubarb marinade.
