Colour & Appearance
Pale golden yellow with greenish reflections. Fine, persistent perlage with elegant mousse chains, testament to extended ageing on the lees. Crystal-clear brilliance in the glass.
Nose
Precise and complex: white flowers, lemon zest and green apple meet subtle notes of roasted almonds and brioche. With air contact, mineralic hints of chalk and flint develop, typical of Chouilly’s chalk soils. A fine saline note underscores the maritime freshness.
Palate
Taut, precise and of impressive energy. The Extra Brut dosage allows the wine its full expression: citrus fruits, white peaches and mirabelle plums are carried by vibrant acidity. The texture is creamy-silky, yet never heavy. Pronounced minerality with chalky structure and saline grip. Remarkable are the length and tension this 2013 develops – a vintage often underestimated in Champagne.
Finish
Long, saline-mineralic and refreshing. Lemon peel and white flowers linger, underpinned by a fine bitterness reminiscent of grapefruit. The chalk minerality remains present for minutes.
