Wine description for La Rose de Manincor IGT 2023 1500ml Magnum from Manincor
Colour & appearance
A bright, brilliant salmon pink colour with subtle orange reflections that bear witness to the careful maceration. The transparency is impressively clear and already promises the precision for which Manincor is known in the glass.
Nose
Remarkably ethereal with a restrained but complex aroma. The fruit elegantly recedes into the background in favour of a fascinating herbal composition of Mint, Eucalyptus and Lemon balm. White floral fragrances dance with bright fruit - precisely defined white currant and Raspberry of remarkable purity. The citrus component with Grapefruit and fine lemon zest lends the wine an intellectual tension, while white pepper and Coriander seed provide subtle flavour.
Palate
The palate reveals true mastery: cool, precise and with impeccable balance. The fruit appears to be dipped in a hint of yoghurt - a textural sophistication that conveys depth without heaviness. The small, slightly acidic fruit structure creates a remarkable drinkability. The wine has those fine bitter notes that are reminiscent of the best examples from Provence and guarantee a lingering, animating finish. The acidity structure is precisely calibrated - present but never intrusive.
General information
A biodynamic rosé from South Tyrol that masters the challenges of the 2023 vintage. The precise blend of Merlot (35%), Cabernet Franc (30%), Pinot Noir (14%) and other varieties come from altitudes between 250-500 metres. The gentle juice extraction (6-12 hours) and the partially spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels followed by five months of fine maturation give this wine its remarkable complexity.
Food pairing suggestions
The cool precision and fine bitter notes predestine this rosé for Salmon grilled on the skin with misoThe black sesame emphasises the subtle spiciness of the wine. It harmonises just as brilliantly with sautéed mushrooms with fregola sarda and grapefruitThe citrus notes in the wine and dish create a fascinating dialogue. Special features
The 1.5-litre magnum bottle not only offers an impressive format for convivial occasions, but also ensures optimal slow maturation of this complex rosé. The combination of Alpine freshness and Mediterranean elegance is particularly remarkable - an area of tension that few winemakers can master as masterfully as Manincor.
