Colour & Appearance

Delicate purple with a bright rim and brilliant lustre – a wine that reveals its youthful freshness and transparency at first glance.

Nose

Inviting and charming, this Tuscan blend presents itself with the unmistakable Sangiovese signature: morello cherry, sweet cherry and wild strawberries dominate, complemented by blackberry and blackcurrant. Elderflower and rosehip add a pleasantly tart note, whilst red fruit tea underscores the juicy, light direction. A hint of liquorice and dark chocolate brings depth, accompanied by Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary, thyme and pine needles. A clear, slender aromatic composition of remarkable precision.

Palate

Here the house philosophy reveals itself: juicy, light-footed and characterised by vibrant acidity. The wine flows across the palate with crisp freshness, with fine astringency that recalls biting into freshly picked berries. The tannins are gossamer-thin, silky and unobtrusive – instead, transparency, juiciness and invigorating freshness dominate. An uncomplicated, elegant red wine that impresses equally well served chilled in summer or at cellar temperature in winter.

Finish

Medium length, fresh and fading with fine fruitiness. The acidity carries the wine through to the end without ever becoming intrusive.

Terroir & Origin

Fattoria Corzano e Paterno lies between Florence and Siena in San Casciano Val di Pesa. The vineyards at approximately 300 metres elevation benefit from calcareous-clayey soils with rounded pebbles – former marine deposits that give the wine its characteristic freshness and minerality.

Grape Variety & Vinification

A harmonious blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Hand-harvested, cool processing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The brief maceration (maximum 5 days) and five-month maturation in stainless steel tanks without new oak preserve the wine’s fruitiness and freshness.

Food Pairing Suggestions

An ideal companion to Pasta al Pomodoro, Pizza Margherita, grilled vegetables or Antipasti. Also an excellent choice with Vitello Tonnato, Carpaccio or light braised dishes.
