Colour & appearance

Deep, dark black colour with delicate violet reflections that testify to the youthfulness of this powerful Priorat. In the magnum bottle, the wine presents itself with impressive density and concentration.

Nose

The Laurel 2019 embodies all the complexity and elegance of Priorat. The nose reveals a fascinating duality: dark, almost mysterious fruit aromas Cassis, Sour cherry, Elderberry - meet a Mediterranean bouquet of herbs from the Rosemary, Thyme and Pines. Black olives and juniper provide additional depth, while black pepper and Cinnamon powder spicy accents. The Grenache-Syrah-Cabernet cuvée is cool and structured, never intrusive despite its 15% alcohol.

Palate

This wine shows its true class on the palate. Despite its enormous fruit concentration and density, it remains surprisingly light-footed - one of the best Priorat wines. The texture is fleshy and juicy, supported by precise acidity and fine, silky tannins that subtly caress the palate. The Mediterranean herbal flavour dominates the long finish, accompanied by ripe dark fruit and mineral freshness. A wine of remarkable drinkability that combines power with finesse.

General information

The Laurel comes from the renowned Priorat, one of Spain's most exciting wine regions. Clos i Terrasses is one of the pioneers of this appellation and vinifies on the characteristic Llicorella slate soils. The magnum bottle promises excellent ageing potential for the next 10-15 years.

An ideal companion to Roast beef from the oven with Mediterranean oven vegetables and blackberries, Lamb ragout with rosemary potatoes or surprisingly also to Beetroot casserole with feta, thyme, hazelnuts and pumpkin. The Mediterranean herbal notes of the wine harmonise perfectly with spicy meat dishes and aromatic vegetable preparations.
