Tasting note
Color:
Deep dark cherry red colour, with minimal violet highlights towards the rim.
Nose:
The 2018 Ravazzol Amarone Classico shows smoky aromas, truffles, some lovage, with graphite and liquorice. With a little oxygen, fruity flavours of rowanberry, sloe and blackberry emerge. A multi-layered wine, beautifully matured with a great deal of charm.
Palate:
It is sweet, dense and juicy on the tongue. It flatters the palate and its fresh acidity gives it a stimulating flavour, while the fine-grained and balanced tannin structure rounds off this wonderful drinking experience perfectly. It is at a stage of wonderful drinking pleasure and should be enjoyed chilled with aromatic and intense dishes.
Food pairing suggestions
- Tartelette with porcini mushrooms, sage and balsamic vinegar (vegetarian)
- Quails on radicchio braised in maple syrup with walnuts and beetroot
- Cocoa noodles with beef fillet strips, orange wedges and rosemary
