Tasting note
Color:
Pale, bright straw yellow with delicate green reflections
Nose:
Lime, big wood and yeast. These are probably the key characteristics of this wine and are also reflected in the flavour. All the flavours are in perfect harmony with each other. It is at peace with itself and literally rests within itself.
Its fruit is flavoured with a hint of cold smoke. Pear and apple are present in all types of preparation. Quince has more of a candied flavour. Cinnamon and marzipan are in the air. There is also a hint of cardamom and clove. Candied pineapple and hints of grilled corn as well as a hint of popcorn are in the air. It shows its yeasty side through brioche and puff pastry. Very charming and appealing.
Palate:
Full of diversity, it confirms these impressions. This is complemented by a racy acidity structure that interacts perfectly with the enamel. Its cool appearance is due to its chalky, stony character. It is beautiful and wonderfully inviting. The Pinot Blanc Reserve from 2023 is perfect to drink so young and is accessible. This should not detract from its potential. This is one of those wines that is probably completely underestimated and misjudged in most cases, even though there is so much more to it. It is adaptable and versatile. It lives from complexity and nonchalance in equal measure.
Food pairing suggestions
