Wine information
The idea of an everyday wine far removed from the mainstream. Chardonnay, Riesling and Scheurebe from the Hohes Eck and Lissen vineyards. After hand-picking, the Chardonnay underwent around ten days of maceration in 1000-litre amphorae. The wine was then pressed and stored again in the amphorae. The Scheurebe comes from the years 2017 to 2022 and fermentation began on the skins. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was stored in 600-litre acacia and oak barrels. The Riesling comes from a solera from 2013 to 2022 in 600-litre barrels and stainless steel. It was bottled in March 2023 with 30 mg total sulphur, 3.25 pH and 1 gram of residual sugar.
Color
Medium, slightly cloudy straw yellow colour
Nose
The white cuvée with parts from the solera is a creamy and sensual wine with an attack of lilac and nutmeg, yellow apples and peaches. Fruit and floral notes are accompanied by slightly nutty hints, some blond tobacco and herbal spice.
Palate
On the palate, the white Solera Spicy and slightly phenolic, strikingly salty and full-bodied with tobacco and herbaceous notes. The acidity is fine and sensual, the wine is juicy and, thanks to the Scheurebe, also emphasises the fruitiness. Towards the finish, the wine becomes more and more mellow with a light veil of yeast on the one hand, and increasingly salty, vibrantly mineral and also somewhat smokier on the other.
