Wine Description for Attis Lias Finas 2024 by Attis Bodegas y Vinedos

Colour & Appearance
Rich, luminous golden yellow with bright and greenish reflections – a wine that already promises depth and substance in the glass.
Nose
The nose is of impressive richness and complexity. Ripe mango, persimmon, nectarine and apricot meet grilled pineapple and passion fruit. These are joined by dried pear, apple compote and caramelised quince. The extended time on the lees imparts an elegant depth with fine notes of Tarte Tatin and pastry. In the background, cinnamon stick, mint and lemongrass play their part – and always present: a cool, clear Atlantic salinity that gives the opulent fruit contour and tension.
Palate
Taut, cool and juicy – the palate reveals a different, more concentrated side of the wine. The fruit retreats, instead vibrant acidity dominates, along with a slightly grippy mouthfeel from the intense lees contact and fine bitter notes with hints of grape pips. Tense and precise, with narrowly focused fruit and a saline, yeasty minerality.
Finish
Long, dry and characterised by cool salinity. Delicate ethereal nuances and lingering freshness immediately make you want another sip.
Terroir & Origin
From the Val do Salnés, the most renowned subzone of Rías Baixas, come vines around fifty years old, rooted in granitic-sandy soils with loamy layers. The westerly exposure towards the Atlantic unmistakably shapes the wine with its characteristic coolness and minerality.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Produced as a pure varietal from Albariño. Hand-harvested, sorted on the selection table, cold maceration and controlled fermentation at 12–15°C. Maturation takes place over six months on the lees – partly in wooden cask, partly in steel tank – with regular stirring of the lees (bâtonnage). A wine crafted with meticulous precision and great ambition.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Ideal with grilled seafood, Pulpo a la gallega, scallops with butter sauce or white fish from the oven. The salinity and freshness make it equally perfect with oysters or an elegant bouillabaisse.
Special Features
The name Lias Finas refers directly to the fine lees – the heart of vinification. The winery Attis, named after the mythological figure from the cult of the nature goddess Cybele, stands for deep respect towards vineyard and terroir. An Albariño that goes far beyond the expected.
