Colour & appearance

Bright ruby red with medium colour intensity, which already announces the elegant style of this modern Garnacha.

Nose

Remarkably fresh and precise for the warm 2019 vintage. crunchy cherry fruit, floral notes and earthy-mineral notes. A touch white pepper emphasises the character typical of the grape variety. The Atlantic freshness gives the wine a stimulating clarity.

Palate

A prime example of the new Garnacha wave from the Ebro region: aromatic, expressive and with a silky texture. Red fruits and Peppery flavour dominate, carried by elegant, fine-grained tannins. Despite 14.5% alcohol, the body appears almost slender - a sign of perfect balance. The nine-month barrel ageing is perfectly integrated and barely noticeable. The finish reveals a chalky minerality, which adds depth and complexity.

Departure

Medium to long, with persistent fruit and a mineral character. The velvety texture remains until the end.

Terroir & origin

The vineyards are located in the municipality of San Martin at an altitude of 500 to 600 metres in one of the coolest areas of Navarre. Calcareous soils characterise the mineral character of this local wine and ensure its characteristic freshness despite its southern location.

Grape variety & vinification

Exclusively old Garnacha vines, the former main variety of Navarre. Fermentation in open vats, followed by nine months of ageing in 500 litre oak barrels. Bodegas Artazu, part of the renowned Artadi Group, consistently favours finesse over power.

Food pairing suggestions

Perfect for steamed artichokes, Scallops in white wine sauce, grilled tuna or Rack of lamb with herb crust. The elegance of the wine also harmonises perfectly with Mushroom dishes and mature Manchego.
