Wine Description for Weißer Mulatschak 2024 by Meinklang

Colour & Appearance
Luminous apricot with subtle amber nuances, indicating brief skin contact. A delicate, lively perlage dances in the glass – typical of this charming Pet Nat, which derives its natural carbonation from bottle fermentation.
Nose
An aromatic fireworks display that brings the summer meadow straight into the glass: chamomile, elderflower and lily of the valley form a floral foundation. Ripe apricot, juicy pear and the subtle spice of preserved apple join the party. The Traminer component reveals itself with discreet exoticism, whilst Welschriesling and Pinot Gris provide structure and depth. A wine that constantly evolves in the glass.
Palate
Precise and piquant – this Pet Nat excels with refreshing liveliness. The moderate carbonation carries the fruit aromas elegantly across the palate, whilst the low alcohol content of just 11.5% vol. provides playful lightness. Crisp, invigorating and possessed of a clarity that entices the next sip. Here Meinklang’s biodynamic signature reveals itself in its purest form.
Finish
Medium-length and refreshing, with a delicate yeast note and lingering floral aromas. Four months ageing on fine lees impart a subtle creaminess that harmonises perfectly with the sparkling liveliness.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A well-balanced cuvée of 50% Welschriesling, 25% Pinot Gris and 25% Traminer. Fermented in bottle using the Méthode Ancestrale, aged for four months in stainless steel on fine lees. Unfiltered and unrefined – pure nature from Burgenland’s Seewinkel.
Food Pairing Suggestions
The ideal aperitif for sunny terraces. Pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, goat’s cheese salad, asparagus with herb vinaigrette or sushi. Also a revelation with light fish dishes and vegetable tempura.
Special Features
An authentic Pétillant Naturel from biodynamic pioneer Meinklang. Unfiltered, unrefined and with natural yeast in the bottle – a living wine that perfectly embodies the philosophy of natural winemaking.
