Info about the wine
Konstantin Weiser and his partner Alexandra Künstler have been making steep-slope wines since 2005. It all began with a small plot in the Ellergrub, which they initially developed with Daniel Vollenweider until the current winery was found in 2008. The pure Riesling winery initially produced exclusively residually sweet wines. Today, the 4.2 hectares of production are divided into dry and residually sweet, with most of the wines being vinified semi-dry and coming exclusively from the Ellergub. The concise phenolic is a guiding theme of Weiser-Künstler's wines, which are always contoured by noble bitters in addition to their concise acidity.
To save the old cultural landscape and the steep slopes, Weiser artists are members of the Klitzekleiner Ring. You could call it preservation by drinking. A good and important mission.
Info about the expansion
Spontaneous fermentation without the use of clarifying agents or "fining agents", maturation in barrels on the full lees until bottling in April without racking.
Color
Light golden yellow with clear green reflections.
Nose
The 2022 Trabener Gaispfad Riesling Kabinett trocken from Weiser-Künstler conveys beguiling lightness and fruity finesse in combination with slatey and earthy notes. Its fragrance is characterised by lime, green apple and subtle wild raspberry. The wonderful flavour is rounded off by freshly brewed verbena and a hint of white pepper.
Palate
On the tongue it is extremely invigorating and the playful acidity shows a salty trace that immediately stimulates salivation, while at the same time it has a fine flavour and plenty of grip. Thanks to its moderate alcohol content of just 10 vol% and the perfect interplay of sweetness and acidity, it can be enjoyed with great pleasure in its youthful stage, but will reveal all its facets and complexity even more clearly as it matures. The patient connoisseur will put a few bottles in the cellar and wait!
Decant when young, if possible.
