Tasting note
Info about the wine:
Costabisaccia is a 30-year-old, north-facing vineyard in the hills around Grisì, around 25 kilometres south-east of Alcamo. The autochthonous Catarratto grows there at 600 metres above sea level and always produces storable wines with a clear varietal typicity.
Removal Info:
The grapes are pressed and macerate on the skins for 24 hours under temperature control. Fermented spontaneously in steel tanks, the wine matures on its lees for six months before being released for sale.
Color:
Bright golden yellow with green and silvery reflections.
Nose:
The 2023 Costabisaccia presents itself with a fruit basket full of exotic fruits. Orange, mango, pineapple and banana kick things off, accompanied by a variety of herbs such as sage, eucalyptus and camomile. The whole is rounded off with a fine hint of vanilla and a little aniseed.
Palate:
On the tongue, it is the delightful combination of tart spice and juicy yellow fruit as well as animating acidity that makes this wine so special. A wonderful food companion with a charming structure and beautiful length and depth. A lot of wine in the glass for little money, great discovery!
