Colour & Appearance

Transparent, luminous ruby red with delicate garnet reflections at the rim of the glass. The moderate colour intensity already reveals the elegant style of this Styrian Pinot Noir.

Nose

A subtle, multi-layered bouquet with precise notes of red currants, wild cherries and a hint of wild strawberries. Behind these unfold fine nuances of damp forest floor, dried rose petals and a discreet spice. The old vines reveal their complexity through mineral notes and a restrained yet profound aromatics.

Palate

On the palate, the wine impresses with its silky texture and fine-grained structure. The moderate alcohol content of 12.5% supports the elegance and finesse. Precise acidity carries the slender red berry fruit, whilst the tannins are fine and polished. The finish is medium-length, with a pleasant salinity and subtle herbal spice, typical of South Styria.

This Pinot Noir comes from old vines in South Styria, managed by the Tement family with their biodynamic approach. The cool vintage of 2021 shows itself in the precise acidity structure and the restrained yet ripe fruit. The conversion to organic viticulture, which the winery undertook under the direction of the trio Manfred, Armin and Stefan Tement, is reflected in the authenticity and terroir fidelity of this wine.

A versatile food companion that pairs particularly well with game birds, roasted duck breast or mushroom dishes such as a fine porcini risotto. Also a remarkable pairing with boiled beef with rösti or lightly chilled with tuna tataki.
