About the wine
The deep complexity of this characteristic Sancerre from Domaine Vacheron testifies to its origin from three terroirs that only Sancerre can offer - Silex, Caillottes and Terres Blanches. The result is a spontaneously fermented Sauvignon Blanc that finds its perfection in stainless steel barrels.
Colour
A subtly radiant straw yellow with a delicate green sheen.
Scent
Over the years, Vacheron's Sancerre has gained in refinement and elegance without losing its typical Sancerre identity. It presents itself fresh, juicy and aromatic, yet light and cheerful, yet with a certain complexity. Its bouquet surprises with nuances of white currants and kiwi, complemented by mirabelle plum, limequat and green and yellow kiwi refined with a hint of chalk dust.
Taste
In the mouth, the Sauvignon Blanc unfolds the same finesse and expressiveness as in the nose. Juicy, green and partly white-fleshed fruits dominate the taste experience. Added to this are notes of oats on wet stone. Its lively mineral acidity is virtually characteristic of a Sancerre of this calibre.
Alternative food recommendations
Try this wine with pasta with walnuts, olive oil and fresh ricotta. An extensive sashimi platter would be an equally excellent pairing. Or try steamed fennel with a yoghurt dressing of goat's milk, honey and fresh mint.
