Tasting note
Color:
Bright pomegranate red with delicate golden reflections and light mousseux
Nose:
And it smells as enticing as it looks from the clear glass bottle. Rosehip, pomegranate and a variety of red berries can be discovered. Raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant lead the way. Behind this red wall, there are also light-coloured elements reminiscent of freshly sliced pear and yellow apple. Slightly citrusy notes provide freshness and can be detected on the skin of mandarins. This provides lightness and tart elements at the same time. There are also hints of freshly cut grass, parsley and chervil. I also detect hints of white flowers such as apple and orange.
Palate:
This sparkling wine from Burgenland is uncomplicated, invigorating and fruity. Completely dry with just a hint of carbon dioxide. A simple drink, but well positioned in its cosmos. Fruit, acidity and finesse meet at eye level. Invigorating, tart and refreshing accents are present and contribute to the overall experience. Sip for sip.
Food pairing suggestions
- Toasted sourdough bread with black pudding and mustard (meat)
- Fried prawns on lettuce with Mediterranean goat's cheese (seafood)
- Arancini with gribiche sauce (Vegetable & Vegetarian)
