Color
Rich old gold with light onion skin highlights.
Nose
The nose of the 2016 Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Longeays" from the Bret Brothers flaunts a bacchic bouquet Full-ripe red apples, plump yellow pears and dried peel of oranges and walnuts fill the goblet to bursting. Delicate vanilla notes and mild spices in the top notes complete the round-up. A clear case for the big glasses.
Mouth
A mouthful of wine, so juicy and sloppy it flows down the throat. Grown on a plot of only 0.5 hectares on rich clay soils, it combines juicy fruit with powerful tension on the palate. Complex and dense with great fullness, it is carried by its fine acidity, which gives its baroque splendour a racy drinkability. Timely decanting pays off.
