Colour
The wine shines in a clear, rich golden yellow with a fine sheen.
Nose
Extract-rich, dense and confident is the first appearance of this wine. Ripe yellow pear together with stewed quince and honeydew melon wallow in a reduced brew of sugar cane syrup with rosemary, flower pollen and a blob of barley malt. Fragrantly rounded off the concentration of those flavors of chamomile and lime blossom and a touch of mint for freshness.
Palate
Expressive and powerful, yet defined and graceful, the 2014 Pinot Gris from the Heimbourg vineyard of Domaine Zind-Humbrecht demonstrates with stylistic confidence the great potential of this grape variety, which is always underestimated. Its structure is tightly meshed and full-bodied, which develops fine length in a creamy aftertaste spiked by quiet acidity peaks and simply wants to let the connoisseur linger comfortably.
