Wine Description for Petite Nymphe AOC 2024 by Flo Busch
- Colour & Appearance
- An intense salmon pink with lively, inviting brilliance in the glass – a rosé that already promises freshness and energy from a visual perspective.
- Nose
- The nose is a small pleasure: cranberries and redcurrants meet the tart elegance of barberries, complemented by pomelo, crisp apples and a hint of rhubarb. Fresh herbs and delicate lemon zest lend the bouquet a pleasant, Mediterranean lightness. Everything feels ripe, yet never heavy – a balance that Flo Busch achieves with a sure hand.
- Palate
- On the palate, the Petite Nymphe unfolds a silky-creamy texture that proves surprisingly charming for a wine of such freshness. The crisp core remains intact: peppery notes, a pleasantly bitter character and a delicate hint of tannin give the wine structure and depth. Compared to previous vintages, it has become more elegant – without surrendering its lively, direct character. With merely 12.5% alcohol, it remains light-footed and remarkably quaffable.
- Finish
- Fresh, peppery and of pleasant length – the bitter, citrus-tinged aftertaste makes you reach for the next sip.
- Terroir & Origin
- The Grenache Noir comes from a vineyard with 30 to 40-year-old vines on limestone scree and large river pebbles with a high quartz content – a terroir that favours minerality and freshness. Carignan and Syrah grow on a mixture of yellow and blue limestone-marl, sandstone, gravel and fossils – characteristic of southern French Languedoc.
- Grape Variety & Vinification
- A blend of Grenache and Carignan (according to the label), supplemented by Syrah. After careful hand-harvesting, the grapes were pressed directly and fermented spontaneously – a sign of artisanal conviction. Ageing took place eight months in tank, which preserves the freshness and fruit intensity.
- Food Pairing Suggestions
- An ideal companion for grilled octopus with lemon, bouillabaisse or a Provençal vegetable platter with anchoïade. Equally wonderful with goat’s cheese, light pasta dishes with seafood or simply with a summer salad with strawberries and rocket.
- Special Features
- With the Petite Nymphe 2024, Flo Busch succeeds in creating a rosé that brings the best of Languedoc into the bottle: southern warmth without heaviness, freshness without coldness, character without pretence. A wine for drinking – and for enjoying.
