Out of stock

This makes for a singular character that expresses itself in an almost earthy note reminiscent of mash fermentation, sherry and smoke, but at the same time blends in some caramel, orange peel and brioche. It is a fine interplay of walnut, woody notes reminiscent of dried dates and figs, spiced bread and candied orange peel, which at the same time enter into a liaison with the complex, ripe reserve wines and an impressive freshness.

About the wine

100 % Grillo from 22 year old vines planted in Contrada Samperi near Marsala on 0.5 hectares. Cool pre-fermentation, then direct soft pressing of the whole grapes. Fermentation of the grapes in 500-litre oak barrels, followed by twelve months of ageing. Wine from several vintages. Tirage takes place with must and a small proportion of Vecchio Samperi. Then 30 months sur lattes. < 20 mg/l sulfur.

Color

rich golden yellow with fine mousseux and amber reflections

Nose

Such a sparkling wine one has only rarely in the glass. But who else dares to combine the bottle fermentation with the from the solera Vecchio Samperi to amplify? This makes for singular character, expressed in an almost earthy note reminiscent of mash fermentation, sherry and smoke, but at the same time mixing in some caramel, orange peel and brioche.

Mouth

This distinctive, this singular is also found on the palate, where the perlage is convincing thanks to long yeast aging and thus a Marsala in sparkling wine form has developed. It is a fine interplay of walnut, woody notes reminiscent of dried dates and figs, spiced bread and candied orange peel, which at the same time enter into a liaison with the complex, ripe reserve wines and an impressive freshness. Enjoyed solo, this wine is an unusual but successful experiment. In combination with food, the Terzavia Riserva VS their true element.
