Wine Description for La Rose de Manincor IGT 2022 1500ml by Manincor
- Colour & Appearance
- Clear, pale salmon pink with brilliant, luminous reflections in the glass.
- Nose
- The wine presents itself with aristocratic restraint rather than loud fruitiness. A serious bouquet of wild raspberries, delicate cherry and apple blossoms and a hint of linden flower. It is the scent of a cultivated summer evening, far removed from banal primary fruit.
- Palate
- On the palate, a remarkable structure emerges: youthfully taut, precise and without a gram of unnecessary weight. The structure lives from density and extract rather than mere volume. The texture captivates with silky-flowing tannins and a finely woven acidity that lends the wine an almost dance-like elegance.
- Finish
- A long-lasting, fruity cool finish with a distinctive echo of red forest berries.
- Terroir & Origin
- Grown at 250 to 500 metres above sea level in top South Tyrolean vineyard sites such as Mazzon. The vines are rooted in robust clay soils, calcareous gravel and glacial deposits, which give the wine its mineral depth.
- Grape Variety & Vinification
- A complex cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and other varieties. Made using the classic saignée method (juice run-off), spontaneously fermented in wooden barrels and aged for five months on the lees.
- Food Pairing Recommendations
- Excellent with gazpacho with melon, pasta with grilled pointed peppers and sardines or delicate veal escalopes with apricot and sage.
- Special Features
- Not a simple terrace wine, but a serious rosé with depth and ageing potential, particularly in the 1.5l magnum bottle.
