Terroir & Origin

Pranzegg manages vineyards in South Tyrol, where the alpine climate with its cool nights and warm days creates ideal conditions for fresh, aromatic wines. The region between the Mediterranean south and alpine north produces wines with distinctive tension between fruit and acidity. Lagrein, the autochthonous red variety of South Tyrol, finds its authentic home here on calcareous soils and at higher elevations – traditionally known for powerful red wines, yet here presented in an unexpected, lighter interpretation.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Lagrein is typically vinified into tannic, dark red wines. As a Rosato Frizzante, however, the variety reveals its accessible side: the short skin contact extracts only minimal colour and tannin, yet preserves the variety’s characteristic red fruit character. The second fermentation in bottle or tank gives the wine its lively perlage. With moderate 12% alcohol and a dry profile, the wine remains lean and refreshing – an uncomplicated summer wine that combines craftsmanship with drinking pleasure.
