Info

Foam Vulkan comes from Somlo in Hungary.

60% Harslevelü and 40% Juhfark. The vines are planted on volcanic, stony soils with a small layer of loess.

The vines range in age from 35-60 years.

The pre-harvest of the two vineyards in Somlo is the basis for this wine. Fermentation starts first in tank, then it is bottled fermenting with 10g/l residual sugar.

The fermentation finds its natural end in the bottle and was not disgorged.

Color

Sparkling mirabelle yellow with slight cloudiness and orange reflections with restrained perlage.

Nose

The nose is inviting and multi-faceted. It oscillates between abundant fruit, floral aspects, tart spiciness and an earthy character. First of all, lemon, kaffir lime and bergamot would stand out alongside some blood orange. Orange, grapefruit as well as some red apple go perfectly with it. Blossoms of apple and orange in full splendour slowly make themselves felt. Violet elements also come to the fore. Restrained, but quite elementary, it shows us wheat grass as well as oregano and sage in the fragrance. Discreet nutty nuances and a little red earth round it off.

Palate

On the palate, it then shows its clear, direct nature. The mousseux brings some volume and body to the mouth, but does not push itself to the fore. The acidity counteracts this with restraint. As a result, it bundles all the flavours and this continues like a red thread. It has quite little density and body. An enormously uncomplicated and easy to understand drink. In the aftertaste, the citrus fruits come through again alongside its floral essence.
