Wine Description for Civranetta Prosecco DOC Spumante Rosè Brut Nature 2024 by Fidora

Colour & Appearance
Pale rosé with orange reflexes and lively, fine-bubbled mousse, bearing witness to the secondary fermentation – a visually appealing interplay of elegance and freshness in the glass.
Nose
Hedonistic and inviting: wild strawberries and raspberries dominate, underpinned by rosy apples and redcurrants. The floral dimension reveals itself in delicate notes of elderflower and mallow – an aromatic abundance that evokes both spring and summer.
Palate
Bone-dry and straightforward, this Brut Nature presents itself with lively freshness. The fine-bubbled mousseux carries the berry fruit elegantly across the palate, whilst a rich extract and medium-bodied structure offer surprising substance. The raspberries and wild strawberries from the nose return, accompanied by a saline minerality that recalls the proximity to the lagoon.
Finish
Clear, fresh and pleasantly long. The fruit fades cleanly, without any sweetness – a sparkling wine with serious character.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes hail from Caranto soils from the Pleistocene near the Venetian lagoon – clayey alluvial soils from glacial sediments that impart mineral structure. The cool sea breeze ensures slow, aroma-preserving ripening and makes this site unique for Prosecco production.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A cuvée of 90% Glera and 10% Pinot Nero, which lends the rosé its colour and additional structure. Fidora has worked according to biodynamic principles since 1974 and is Demeter-certified – a commitment that is reflected in the purity and vitality of this wine.
Food Pairing Recommendations
More than just an aperitif: pairs beautifully with Vitello Tonnato, veal carpaccio, sushi and sashimi, scallop ceviche or goat’s cheese with strawberries. Also an elegant choice with summer salads with berries and grilled salmon.
Special Features
Vinified as Brut Nature without dosage – a bold step that allows the terroir and biodynamic work to shine through unfiltered. At just 11% alcohol, a light-footed yet by no means inconsequential companion.
