In the glass

  1. Colour

Intense ruby red with radiant reflections.

  2. Nose

Varietally typical and clear – dark cherries framed by sandalwood, earthy notes and distinctive violets, accompanied by a subtly balsamic top note.

  3. Palate

Juicy, rich fruit with effortless elegance; silky-fine, tightly knit tannins, fleshy bite and profound aromatics with well-integrated acidity.

  4. Character

A Nebbiolo with stability and an inviting flow on the palate that skilfully bridges the gap to the great Barolo – serious yet uncomplicated.

  5. Pairing

Tajarin with truffle, Brasato al Barolo or mushroom risotto – also a superb choice with robust hard cheeses such as Castelmagno.

  6. Notes

The grapes come from a specially planted vineyard featuring “fasce di rispetto” – buffer rows bordering conventionally farmed neighbouring plots, reflecting Chiara Boschis’s organic philosophy (the estate has been certified organic since 2014). Maturation for 14 months in second-fill French barriques lends delicate spice without any dominance of wood.

Tasting note

Colour & appearance
Intense ruby red with radiant reflections — a Nebbiolo that promises tension right from the glass.
Nose
Typical of the variety and clearly defined: dark cherry at the centre, framed by sandalwood and earthy hints. In the upper register violet, accompanied by a discreetly balsamic top note — a rich, abundant aromatic profile that effortlessly bridges the gap between two Barolos.
Palate
Effortless elegance meets juicy, full-bodied fruit. The silky-fine, tightly knit tannins envelop the fruit, while the well-integrated acidity keeps everything taut and invigorating. A fleshy bite, profound aromatics — Piedmontese pleasure without any waiting-list pretension.
Finish
Stable and long, with a fine tannin structure that leaves the palate dry and tense — a wine with genuine potential.
Terroir & origin
Chiara Boschis, the only woman among the legendary Barolo Boys and today the grande dame of Barolo, cultivates eleven hectares in the finest vineyard sites of Barolo, Monforte and Serralunga. The grapes for this Langhe Nebbiolo come from a vineyard planted specifically for this purpose, featuring the so-called “fasce di rispetto”: rows bordering other producers’ non-organic vineyards.
Grape variety & vinification
Pure Nebbiolo, aged 14 months in second-fill French barriques — ensuring the fruit remains in the foreground while the wood merely provides a spicy frame. This is followed by two months of bottle maturation before release.
Food recommendations
The perfect wine for the colder months: with tajarin with truffle, brasato al Barolo, porcini risotto or braised leg of lamb. A mature Castelmagno — the mountain cheese that Chiara produces herself — is also an obvious companion at the table.
Special features
Here you find the signature of a revolutionary: shorter maceration times, barriques, early approachability — Chiara’s quiet rebellion, which once began with secret green harvesting at night. The result: a Nebbiolo with the class of an entry-level Barolo, offering enormous potential at a fair price.
