Colour & appearance

Deep ruby red with violet reflections that emphasise the youthfulness of this 2020 vintage. Clear and brilliant in the glass, with medium to high colour intensity.

Nose

Expressive bouquet with primary aromas of dark cherries and Blackberries. This is accompanied by fine notes of Violets, Liquorice and a touch of Mediterranean herbs. The organic cultivation is evident in the clear expression of fruit without any overlying woody notes.

Palate

Medium to full-bodied Tempranillo with lively acidity and well-integrated tannins. The fruit is clearly in the foreground - Red and black berries harmonise with nuances of dark chocolate and Tobacco. The finish is of medium length with lingering fruit flavours and a hint of Minerality.

General information

The Viñas de Gain represents Artadi's modern interpretation of Tempranillo. Sourced from organically farmed vineyards, the winery deliberately dispenses with the Rioja appellation in order to emphasise its independent philosophy. With 14.5% alcohol, the wine is powerful but not overloaded.

Food pairing suggestions

Excellent accompaniment to grilled lamb, Beef steak or Wild boar ragout. Goes equally well with matured Manchego, Chorizo and other Spanish specialities. Also to dark chocolate an interesting combination.

Artadi is one of the pioneers of organic farming in the region and has consciously separated itself from the Rioja association.
