Tasting note
Info about the wine:
100% Nero d’ Avola benannt nach dem Stammvater der Familie Lauria, gewachsen auf dem weiten flachen Land um Alcamo.
Removal Info:
Harvested in mid-September and fermented in steel tanks.
Color:
Dense violet-red colour, black core.
Nose:
The lush nose seduces with plenty of intensity and sweetness, from blackberries and cassis to violet pastilles and fine chocolate. The wild herbs reminiscent of rosemary, thyme and juniper have a charming effect, with more oxygen contact adding fine coffee and Kampot pepper notes. The whole is beautifully underpinned by a floral fragrance reminiscent of roses and violets. A very harmonious start.
Palate:
The palate of the 2021 ZioPaolo surprises with a fine freshness and invigorating structure; slightly chilled, the slightly higher alcohol does not come into play at all. An extremely animating red wine that impresses with plenty of fruit, juiciness and a polished tannin structure. The perfect partner to barbecue dishes and intense pasta.
Food pairing suggestions
- Penne with roasted celery, avocado and garnet apple (Vegetable & Vegetarian)
- Grilled burger with crispy bacon and salad (meat)
- BBQ chicken drumsticks with beetroot salad and wild herbs (poultry)
