The estate wine category at Tement is named after the soil formations that characterise the respective variety. The Pinot Blanc from Ton & Mergel comes from eight of the best vineyards with a total of 12 plots, grown on clayey limestone marl soils. All grapes are selectively harvested by hand at ideal ripeness. The youthful fruit and gentle vinification for the unadulterated varietal character characterise the nature of this crowdpleaser with its emphasis on origin.
Colour
Pale yellow with green reflections, bright and clear.
Nose
The 2022 Pinot Blanc from Ton & Mergel is open-hearted and fruit-driven on the nose. White and yellow stone fruit mingle with white flowers and outline it as a youthful, fruit-driven wine. Clear apple and white peach, green almonds and lime blossom as well as some white lilac outline its pure, clear character.
Mouth
With its polished fruit, it is almost crystalline, so radiant and clear on the palate. The fruit is reduced to its aromas without drifting into juiciness, the fine phenolics contour it on the tongue and also support the fragile fruit flavours. A very accessible wine with a certain seriousness without turning it into a proseminar. Crystal clear with an appealing tonality and clear varietal character.
