Color
Ruby red with bright reflections and brightening rim.
Nose
The 2010 Sono Montenidoli Toscana Rosso is lush with a charming touch of rusticity on the nose. It depicts classic Toscana as sharp as a silhouette, no modern regalia adorning it with a squinty eye toward Everybodys Darling. Cherry, laurel, camphor and mild spices sharpen its contours.
Mouth
On the nose, it is demanding and gripping. Here, too, nothing is trimmed to suit the masses, rather it shows itself in a Tuscan purity, as it once must have been. A defined acid arc lines and structures the palate. The tannins are tightly woven and ripe, chalky minerality underpins the mouthfeel and an animatingly tart bitter tone balances the fruit, reminiscent of cherries and sloes. Shimmering and transparent with a long finish. Perfect to the hearty Tuscan food.
