Colour & Appearance

Deep, muted cherry red, nearly opaque to the rim – a wine that signals substance and seriousness even in the glass.

Nose

The nose seduces with remarkable complexity: blackberries, cassis and black cherries form the dark fruit foundation, underscored by noble chocolate and Mediterranean wild herbs such as thyme and rosemary. Floral hints of rose petals and violets lend the whole an elegant, almost feminine lightness. Beneath lies an unmistakable mineral depth – the distinctive signature of Montalcino terroir.

Palate

On the palate, this Rosso unfolds with remarkable finesse. The dark fruit and chocolatey character are held in balance by a vibrant, animating acidity and a silky tannin structure. The wine glides across the tongue with velvety smoothness – complex, yet never heavy-handed. After two days in the decanter, it shows itself at its finest.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Pure Sangiovese Grosso – here called Brunello – from the Pian Dell’Orino estate, one of Montalcino’s most consistent organic producers. Decanting recommended; with some cellar ageing, this wine will gain further in complexity.
