Wine profile
The discovery of Particella 128, a noble spumante created from the finest Spergola d'Emilia grapes, is an expression of Vanni Nizzoli's terroir-oriented philosophy and perseverance. Christened after his 20-year-old, youngest vineyard, with plot number 128, this wine is a jewel from the clay soils around Reggio Emilia. After a careful hand harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for six months in concrete and stainless steel. Its authenticity is underlined by the absence of fining, filtering, added sulphur and dosage, and only less than 10 mg of total sulphur show its purity.
Appearance
This drop presents itself in a radiant golden yellow, with subtle apricot nuances and a lively and significant perlage.
Scent
It unfolds a characteristic blend of apple, apple peel and orange peel, underlined by spicy notes of shea butter, almonds, yeast. A delicate hint of lime blossom and camomile adds another dimension.
Taste
The 2020 Particella 128 is showy and exceedingly invigorating. Powerful yet refined, salty and dry, it excites the taste buds for the next sip. It pairs particularly well with Italian delicacies and you would love to have a second bottle of this!
Food recommendations
A delicious accompaniment to Italian starters such as prosciutto, pecorino and olives. Also enjoy fried courgette flowers with a fresh melon and herb dip. Alternatively, it goes wonderfully with potato dumplings with dandelion pesto.
