Info about the wine
The hand-picked organic Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch grapes for this premium cuvée ripened on top slopes on the northern edge of Lake Neusiedl. The Zweigelt comes from the Leithaberg in Jois, the Blaufränkisch from the Ungerberg in Golser.
Information on ageing Manual harvest and selection, spontaneous fermentation in wood, 22 months maturation on the lees in 500 litre wooden barrels.
Color
Dense violet-red, almost dense in colour to the rim.
Nose
The 2021 Pannobile beguiles the nose with dense fruit and mineral, herbaceous spice at the same time. Black cherries, plums and fresh blackberries are paired with tarragon, rosemary and thyme, as well as a delightful flavour of red pepper. Due to its youthful character, the notes of wood smoke and leather are still somewhat in the background, but will become more prominent as the wine matures.
Palate
On the palate, it surprises with plenty of finesse, refreshing structure, finely polished tannins and juicy fruit. A red wine with an extremely drinkable, charming character that has grip and playfulness. A great food companion with fantastic value for money!
