Wine details:
This first-class cuvée is a magnificent combination of the finest hand-picked organic grapes from Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch and comes from the top slopes of the northern part of Lake Neusiedl. In roughly equal proportions, the Zweigelt is from the Leithaberg in Jois, while the Blaufränkisch has its roots in the Ungerberg in Golser.
Extension information:
Careful manual harvesting and selection was followed by spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels. The cuvée then matured for 20 months on the lees in 500 litre wooden barrels to develop its full-bodied flavour.
Hue:
The cuvée enchants the eye with a dense, almost opaque garnet red, which shows intense violet-black reflections towards the rim.
Bouquet:
The 2016 Pannobile presents itself as a full-bodied wine with youthful freshness. Its bouquet, in which ripe morello cherries, blackberries and plum jam merge with notes of firewood, Mediterranean herbs, liquorice and a hint of green pepper, is seductive and it is hard to resist the temptation.
Taste:
Once in the mouth, juicy and fresh fruity notes, especially cherry, emerge, which combine perfectly with an appealing acidity, a supple tannin structure and a mineral note that gives the wine a pleasant depth and finesse. An all-round harmonious wine that has matured perfectly and offers real drinking pleasure with its stimulating and long-lasting finish.
Food suggestions:
Why not try this wine with the following dishes: grilled goat's cheese on a green salad, puff pastry filled with lamb and rosemary or beef boiled beef with herb spinach and roasted almonds.
