Colour & appearance

Bright ruby red with violet reflections that emphasise the youth of this 2022 vintage. Medium intensity in the glass with lively transparency.

Nose

Fresh red berries dominate the bouquet - Raspberries and Cherries mingle with subtle notes of Garrigue herbs. The altitude and the cooling Tramuntana wind have left their mark here: A mineral freshness pervades the flavour profile, complemented by delicate floral accents.

Palate

With only 12.5% alcohol, this Roussillon blend is refreshingly accessible. The Grenache brings juicy fruit and body, while the Carignan provides structure and a subtle flavour. The wine has a remarkable minerality - a credit to the slate and limestone soils at an altitude of 350-400 metres. The acidity is lively but never overpowering, the finish is medium-long with a hint of Thyme and Rosemary.

General information

The winemaking couple Alain and Agnès Carrere continue the family tradition in Caudiès Fenouillèdes, supported by cult consultant Tom Lubbe (Domaine Matassa). This collaboration is reflected in the precise vinification, which makes optimum use of the cool microclimate of the Pyrenean foothills.

Perfect for Grilled lamb with herbs of Provence, Ratatouille or Charcuterie from the region. Also to Pizza Margherita or Mediterranean vegetable dishes an excellent choice.
