Color
Deep purple with violet reflections and black core.
Nose
The nose of Dominik Huber's 2012 Les Tosses is initially restrained, so the wine must definitely be decanted at this young stage. After some time in the air, but at least two hours, it gets chattering Dark berry fruits like blackberries, blueberries, some graphite and the obligatory slate determine the first nose. Earthy notes follow, forest floor, morels but also balsamic notes of fine woods and some mon cherie. Air-dried bacon, a dark tobacco leaf and a few herbs complete the nose of the
still far too young wine.
Mouth
On the palate, the Les Tosses from 100% Carignan has a vibrant tension. Mineral density is paired with a ripe and sweet extract, polished and very tightly woven tannins and a lively acidity that gives it its freshness and verve. This is a wine that at this stage can only be grasped structurally, as it is far too young to really show present greatness. It has immense tension on the palate, is extract-rich with high drinkability. A great Priorat wine with enormous potential. Best tasted over days from large Burgundy glasses.
