Wine Description for Camporella Orange IGT 2022 by Le Masse

Colour & Appearance
Dark, sparkling orange with golden highlights and a subtle, natural cloudiness.
Nose
A terracotta-influenced perfume of fascinating depth: juicy peach meets the bittersweet zest of tangerines. Beneath lies an earthy, spicy dimension of forest floor, light tobacco leaves and cool cedarwood, underscored by nuances of bonfire smoke, rosemary, sage and crushed pepper.
Palate
On the palate, the wine presents itself as powerful, juicy yet captivatingly austere. Its vigour and concentration engage in a tense dialogue with a gripping, taut acidity. A cool, resolute texture leads the cadence.
Finish
The reverberation lingers intensely; the tart citrus fruit merges with the ethereal herbal array into a long, resonant finish.
Terroir & Origin
Grown in Barberino Val d’Elsa in the heart of Chianti Classico. Robin Mugnaini leads this family estate—certified organic since 2020—with a biodynamic approach and an artistic soul.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Single-varietal Trebbiano, hand-harvested. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and without temperature control, lasting two months on the skins in 800-litre terracotta amphorae crafted by sculptor Lorenzo Vignoli. After racking, the wine matures for a further six months in these clay vessels and rests in bottle for at least four months before release.
Food Pairings
Outstanding with seared octopus, pork belly with fennel seeds or aged Pecorino.
Special Features
A radically honest, handcrafted skin-contact amphora wine that unites the Florentine terracotta tradition with uncompromising biodynamics.
