Wine Description for Orange Vino Bianco by Cirelli

Colour & Appearance
Luminous orange with golden reflections – a visual statement that reveals the 30-day skin contact at first glance.
Nose
Expressive and multi-layered: white and red currant, elderberry and strawberry meet elderflower and its syrupy character. Apple and orange blossom lend floral elegance, whilst orange zest and mandarin peel contribute tart freshness. A hint of white pepper adds subtle spice.
Palate
Here Francesco Cirelli’s deft touch is evident: the wine remains remarkably balanced and restrained despite its skin-fermented nature. Bitter compounds and fruit hold each other in check, a certain stoniness replaces the moderate acidity. Not overcomplicated, but focused – the floral notes dominate and lead into an elegant finish.
Finish
Medium length, with lingering floral nuances and a fine bitter note that invites the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
The Trebbiano vines thrive in the Abruzzi on limestone and clay soils – a combination that imparts structure and minerality without dominating the fruit.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Trebbiano, harvested in early September and completely destemmed. The berries macerate for 30 days in tank, where alcoholic fermentation also takes place. After gentle pressing, the wine matures for four months until bottling. At just 12% alcohol, a textbook example of drinkability and elegance over power.
Food Pairing Suggestions
The bitter compounds and moderate complexity make it an ideal companion for pan-fried trout with sweet lemons and green asparagus, Risotto Milanese with bone marrow or a millet salad with cranberry, raisin, almond and mint. Also recommended with roasted poultry or aged goat’s cheese.
Special Features
An orange wine that preaches restraint – no tannin bomb, but an approachable, elegant introduction to the world of skin-fermented white wines. Francesco Cirelli’s signature: naturalness without dogmatism.
