Wine Description for La Rose de Manincor IGT 2024 1500ml Magnum from Manincor

Character
An elegant rosé wine in an impressive magnum bottle that combines the alpine precision of South Tyrol with Mediterranean fruitiness. The cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Lagrein displays the typical Manincor signature: restrained, mineral, with fine structure. The estate on Lake Caldaro is among the pioneers of quality-oriented viticulture in South Tyrol and brings this experience to its rosé wines as well.
Terroir & Origin
Manincor cultivates vineyard sites around Lake Caldaro, where the mild, Mediterranean-influenced climate meets cool mountain winds. These temperature differences between day and night are crucial for the freshness and elegance of the wines. The soils of limestone, gravel and moraine rock lend the wines their characteristic minerality. The estate has been working biodynamically for years, allowing maximum expression of the terroir – a philosophy often underestimated in rosé wines.
Grape Variety & Vinification
The combination of international varieties with the indigenous Lagrein grape is characteristic of the region. Whilst Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure and depth, Merlot brings velvety fullness, and Lagrein provides the typical alpine freshness and spice. At Manincor, rosé wines are not understood as by-products, but are vinified with the same care as the great red wines. The Magnum bottle underlines this aspiration and also offers optimal ageing conditions through the favourable ratio of wine to oxygen.
Food Pairing Suggestions
A versatile companion to Mediterranean cuisine: excellent with grilled fish, vitello tonnato or pasta with seafood. The structure of the cuvée also harmonises with white meat, such as veal schnitzel or chicken with herbs. Particularly appealing with Asian dishes with moderate spice. The magnum is perfect for festive occasions and larger gatherings.
