Wine Description for La Manina IGT 2024 by Manincor

Colour & Appearance
Luminous straw yellow with brilliant green reflections – a wine that already radiates youthful freshness and vitality in the glass.
Nose
Precise and seductive green fruit character. The nose is dominated by grapefruit, lime and bergamot, complemented by bergamot apple, juicy pear and white peach. Beneath lies a fascinating mineral layer of flint and slate, lending depth. Herbal notes of lemon balm, lemon thyme and chervil provide aromatic complexity. A delicate yeasty tone charmingly rounds out the bouquet.
Palate
Here the true strength of this wine reveals itself: lean, precise, invigorating. The crisp acidity (6.2 g/l) propels the wine forward with pointed elegance, never harsh. No softness, no breadth – instead pure drinking pleasure and clarity. The fruit remains controlled and light-footed, the wine effortless and uncomplicated. Exactly what a good entry-level wine should deliver: character without overwhelming.
Finish
Medium-length and fresh, with lingering lime and bergamot notes, accompanied by fine herbal spice. The wine bids farewell cleanly and leaves you wanting another sip.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from younger vineyards outside the Terlaner appellation – hence the IGT classification. The challenging 2024 vintage with a damp spring and ideal autumn weather has resulted in moderate alcohol (12.5%) and lively acidity. Yield: 55 hl/ha.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A cuvée of 53% Pinot Blanc, 29% Chardonnay and 18% Sauvignon Blanc. Completely destemmed, six hours of skin contact, fermentation and nine months of ageing on fine lees in large wooden barrels. Manincor’s biodynamic approach is evident in the precision and vitality of the wine.
Food Pairing Recommendations
An ideal companion to seafood, oysters, goat’s cheese, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, pan-fried zander fillet or Vitello Tonnato. Also a pleasure on its own as an aperitif.
Special Features
The „little brother“ of the renowned La Contessa offers authentic Manincor character at a fair price. A wine that prioritises elegance over opulence – and that’s precisely what makes it shine.
