Wine Description for La Manina IGT 2024 by Manincor

Colour & Appearance
Luminous straw yellow with bright, green reflections – a wine that already displays its youthful freshness and vitality in the glass.
Nose
Here the acidity speaks before you even take the first sip. A playful, clearly defined aromatics in the green fruit spectrum: grapefruit, lime, kaffir lime leaf and bergamot dominate. Behind them green and yellow apples, juicy pear, white peach. The cool, smoky minerality – between slate and flint – lends the wine depth and tension. Herbal notes of lemon balm, lemon thyme and chervil underline the freshness. A delicate, yeasty tone rounds off the nose charmingly.
Palate
Slender, precise, tapering – this is not a wine that wants to please, but one that shows character. Crisp acidity (6.2 g/l!), juicy, light-footed mouthfeel at a lean 12.5% alcohol. The fruit remains controlled, never broad or opulent. No softness, no fullness – instead elegance, clarity and great drinking pleasure. Invigorating, uncomplicated, fresh. A perfect introduction to Manincor’s signature style.
Finish
Medium length, with bright citrus aromas, lime and bergamot, accompanied by fine herbal spice. The wine bids farewell elegantly and leaves you wanting the next glass.
Terroir & Origin
The vines come from younger plantings outside the Terlan appellation. The challenging 2024 vintage – damp until July, then hot, followed by beautiful autumn weather – brought moderate alcohol levels and vital acidity. Yield: 55 hl/ha. Biodynamic viticulture.
Grape Variety & Vinification
53% Pinot Blanc, 29% Chardonnay, 18% Sauvignon Blanc. Completely destemmed, six hours of skin contact, fermentation and nine months of ageing on fine lees in large wooden cask. The result: 0.6 g/l residual sugar at 6.2 g/l acidity – strong values.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Oysters, scallop carpaccio, vitello tonnato, goat’s cheese salad, asparagus with lemon butter, sushi and sashimi, steamed char or simply as an aperitif.
Special Features
La Manina is the accessible sister of La Contessa – uncomplicated, but by no means simple. A wine with character and biodynamic soul at a fair price.
