Info about the wine
This elegant cuvée takes its name from the sunny lowlands to the east of Lake Neusiedl, which are characterised not only by an excellent microclimate but also by particularly permeable soils. The hand-picked organic grapes for this wine ripened on these soils in vineyards traditionally cultivated by hand.
Color
Dark violet red with delicate lightening towards the rim.
Nose
The 2021 Heideboden has an intense and pleasantly tart attack. Aromas of blackberries, elderberries and sloe combine with dark plum jam. Distinct aromas of green pepper, pepper, wood smoke and leather emphasise its spicy and savoury character. With sufficient oxygen, floral hints of ivy and violets are added.
Palate
On the palate, it is juicy with refreshing acidity, earthy minerality and stimulating herbal flavours. The aftertaste is reminiscent of pepper and bread crust and is a pleasure to enjoy slightly chilled with savoury and hearty dishes.
