Color

Intensely shining golden yellow.

Nose

The 2003 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Franc de Pied exudes an intense aroma of dried apricot, quince, quince bread, orange jam and liquid honey. Spicy notes of candied ginger, cinnamon transport you to a fascinating, Far Eastern-like world already on the nose. The chalky minerality that succinctly frames the whole gives it freshness and a razor-sharp precision for all its opulence.

Palate

The palate of the 2003 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Franc de Pied seems firm and animated with fine spice that contrasts beautifully with its sweetness. Refreshing citrus notes of orange and grapefruit give the overall picture a great freshness kick. A wine that is at the beginning of its drinking maturity, incredibly multifaceted and complex with excellent ageing potential.
