Colour & Appearance

Light platinum with brilliant reflections in the glass.

Nose

An remarkably accessible and open masterpiece. Initially cool, chalky minerality and an aroma of wild herbs and white blossoms. Beneath lies a subtle reduction, underpinned by bergamot, fresh lemon, quince and ripe apricot.

Palate

On the palate, the premier danseur among Rieslings reveals itself: immensely charming, electrifying and feather-light, despite enormous density. A juicy interplay of stony texture, fine citrus zest and a grippy, vibrant acidity, paired with a silky texture.

Finish

Exceptionally long, profound and characterised by a striking, salty minerality that lingers with animating freshness.

Terroir & Origin

From the historic Königsbach monopole vineyard IDIG in the Pfalz. The steeply south-southeast sloping hillside rests on a solid limestone subsoil, overlaid with Terra Fusca, colourful sandstone and basalt – a true German Grand Cru.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Single-varietal Riesling. Spontaneously and warmly fermented in traditional large Doppelstück casks after several hours of skin contact. Handcrafted according to the strict guidelines of respekt-BIODYN and EU organic standards.

Food Pairings

Perfect with pan-fried pike-perch on lentils, scallops with lemon butter or refined veal dishes.
