Wine Description for Chateau Revelette Blanc AOP 2023 by Revelette

Colour & Appearance
Medium straw yellow with a slightly copper-tinged hue, indicating the six-hour skin contact – a deliberate choice for greater texture and complexity.
Nose
The bouquet is a journey into the Provençal landscape: ripe yellow pears, hay and broom mingle with citrus notes and white flowers. Subtle fennel pollen hints at the southern provenance without being intrusive. The nose breathes freshness and vibrancy.
Palate
Juicy white-fleshed fruit meets ripe, well-integrated acidity. The texture is remarkable: creamy and silky, with a subtle tannic structure courtesy of the skin contact. Here the winemaker’s artistry shines through: despite the southern sun, the wine never feels heavy or opulent, but remains precisely balanced. The finish turns spicier with fennel pollen, liquorice and lingering pear fruit.
Terroir & Origin
Château Revelette’s 30 hectares of vineyards lie near Jouques, approximately 30 kilometres north of Aix-en-Provence, in the shelter of Montagne Sainte-Victoire. Spread across 17 parcels, the vines benefit from a special microclimate – southern warmth with cooling influences.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A thoughtfully crafted cuvée of approximately 50% Rolle (Vermentino), 30% Ugni Blanc and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The separately harvested grape varieties underwent six hours of skin contact, fermented at cool 17°C and went through malolactic fermentation. Ageing in cement tank preserves freshness and precision.
Food Pairing Suggestions
An ideal companion to Provençal cuisine: Pissaladière, monkfish with fennel and olives or braised figs with goat’s cheese. The texture and spicy notes also harmonise beautifully with grilled fish and seafood.
Special Features
With this wine, Peter Fischer demonstrates that southern French white wines can combine charm and fullness with elegance and precision. The skin contact imparts unusual depth without sacrificing freshness – a modern Provence white wine with character.
