Colour
Sparkling garnet red with distinct brick red brightening towards the rim.
Nose
On the nose, the 2014 Barolo Pira by Roagna presents dark berry, ripe and partly pickled fruit reminiscent of blackberries, blueberries, sloes and jostaberry. Notes of noble dark chocolate and tobacco also emerge clearly after a little longer opening, as well as freshly brewed Earl Grey tea. A beguiling drop, which takes one already in the nose completely for itself.
Palate
The character of the nose is beautifully confirmed on the palate. It floats over the tongue, soft and velvety with intense mineral emphasis and finest stimulating acidity, which flirts with the taster, inspires and stimulates him. Its cool and fresh elegance makes its alcohol seem much more delicate than the label suggests. A Burgundian long-distance runner with great potential, which can be enjoyed excellently already in its current stage due to its perfect maturity.
