Color
The wine shows itself in bright shining straw yellow with golden reflexes and a discreet yeast cloudiness brilliantly in the glass.
Nose
With its first outcry, right after pouring, this character wine initially comes across a bit yeasty, sheer beer-y and musty. However, it does not take long at all to get used to the new environment and to calm down. Just as effervescent as its first nose was, it continues to be just as precise after being given some time. Citrus fruits like grapefruit and kumquats merrily meet quince, sea buckthorn and the vitalizing freshness of coriander greens. At the same time, however, the typical tobacco and white smoke of a Grüner Veltliner is also inherent in this day.
Palate
Tight and compact, the 2018 Tag from Meinklang hits the palate. With literally vibrating acidity and a gossamer, but equally stimulating bitterness in the luggage, this lightweight has the juiciness for itself. Fruit-laden and yet with a herbal aftertaste, this drink is, in the most positive sense, pure toast.
For friends of the genuine but also lovers of expressionism.
Nothing for connoisseurs of industrially produced wines.
