Out of stock

Delicate smoky spices of cedar wood, cocoa shell and tobacco leaf fill the wine with volume, warmth and depth. With patience, air and in a large glass, after a little time, an aromatic path leads over forest soils overgrown with moss and porcini mushrooms, as well as covered with autumn leaves, exactly where the pepper grows.

Color

Dark ruby red in colour with a violet rim and an opaque core, the wine appears clear and bright in the glass.

Nose

Nestled on warm-hearted fruit such as rosehip, blueberry and, promising astringency, sloe, this delicate marriage of Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Merlot grape varieties is nevertheless an unwavering rock in the surf. Delicately smoky spices of cedar, cocoa shell and tobacco leaf fill the wine with volume, warmth and depth.

With patience, air and in a large jar, after a little time, an aromatic path leads over forest floors covered with moss and porcini mushrooms, as well as autumn leaves, to exactly where the pepper grows.

Palate

On the palate, the 2016 Gabarinza from Heike and gernot Heinrich comes into its own. It is full-bodied, powerful and fleshy; however, this is defined instead of pompous and thus at peace with itself; not least thanks to the captured freshness of the 2016 vintage. Its tannins resemble the masterpieces of Persian carpet weaving in their tightness and precision. Except that for all its density and ornamentation, this is actually a flying carpet that skillfully defies gravity. Unless it flows down the epicurean throat.

To do this wine full justice, leave your impatient fingers off the corkscrew for the time being.

Buy twelve bottles and drink one a year from 2020. In the years 2026-2029 also two.

It just doesn't add up.

Replace 12 with 24.

Or, even better, you just stock up with the correspondingly sufficient amount of bottles.
