Color
Light golden yellow with green shimmering reflexes
Nose
Martin Muthenthaler's Riesling "Vießlinger Stern" opens the game with citrusy-fruity notes, flint, precise use of spices and a detour into the green.
Palate
Very delicate, almost sweetly grounded, clearly crescendoing acidity, notes of ripe apples, peach and ripe Gallia melon with a downright warm finish that becomes increasingly broader, increasingly present, something like the development from 8-mm film to the Cinemascope process - enormous substance that has lost none of its presence even after more than a week in the opened bottle. Carafe!
Food recommendations by Miguel Montfort
- Marinated black grouse with star anise and fennel foam and sautéed porcini mushrooms
- Monkfish carpaccio with cockles and candied kumquats
