Color
Pale straw yellow with green reflections and silver tapered rim.
Nose
The 2014 Riede Steiner Schreck from Heidelinde and Markus Lang bewitches with its ethereal top notes of anise, fennel seed and chervil. Gradually, fruity components such as apricots and yellow apples and an ethereal top note of brook mint appear. This is underpinned by the scent of wet stones after a warm summer rain and freshly brewed herbal tea.
Mouth
Juicy on the nose and flanked by sloppy fruit, the minerality that sets the pace quickly makes itself known. It provides the beat to which the rest moves. The acidity is firmly interwoven into the structure of the wine, plus a fine bitterness that gives the wine additional traction. Fruit is really secondary here, what remains is the essence of the wine, experienced through its feel in the mouth creamy texture with maximum inner tension. A wine with a future.
